You might expect IBT leaders to be the most loyal and faithful of all
club members. FAT CHANCE! IBT members have spent their entire WBCCI
years kicking SOBs (some other brand) to the curb if anyone dared show
up in one. Now the IBT Brand Police want to deliberately deal the
fatal blow to our club by bringing in SOBs!
You see-the entire Executive Committee-all nine members, are motor home members. The IBT as a whole, twenty one members, are overwhelmingly motor home members. The IBT no longer have Airstreams in their futures! They want to sell the club on Four Winds motorhomes so that they can continue to lead. There are plenty of Class A motorhome members that would be thrilled to stay in this club with their next motorhome purchase in an Associate Member class-but not the IBT! They know once they broach that solution they'll be voting themselves out of leadership positions-so mum's the word on the Associate Member class, okay? Don't mention it!
We can protect a couple of hundred motor home members that will eventually run into trouble with the Associate Member class. Let them buy whatever they want in the next round but keep our Regular Membership requirements in tact. Change them and thousands of iconic Airstream Travel Trailer owners will leave and start their own club. That will be the end of the WBCCI.
The Leadership of the WBCCI should be in a "Serving Capacity" however they are now are in a "Self-Serving capacity". The Classic Airstream is what gives Identity to WBCCI and to Airstream Inc. Other products are produced but just fold into the pack without identity. Everybody recognizes A Classic Airstream. That is the purpose of a Classic Airstream. Isn't it ironic that the same folks that couldn't care less about the classic Airstream and fought to get Airstream Motorhomes into the club are now the ones trying to end the single brand identity of our club? Vote no on this amendment!
