Here we go folks. After the MOHO proponents nearly skuttled the club with perhaps the most devisive and controversial issue to face the WBCCI they're going to try it again! With so much of the club against allowing motorhomes not made by Airstream into the club they want to resurrect this issue and once again pit member against member. But last year the membership spoke with a resounding voice! They voted NO! Time to get the word out and this time we need to drop kick this issue with 80% against.
Here's the notice that just came out of the Tampa Bay Florida Unit:
You can read the complete discussion on this topic HERE.
Subject: Business Meeting at the March Rally
Regular Members of Tampa Bay Florida Unit WBCCI are hereby notified
that there will a unit business meeting to be held at the March Rally
at the Sun Lake RV Park, Ruskin, FL at 9:00am Friday the 7th of March.
At this meeting, at least two proposals will require your consideration
and vote.
First will be a proposed change to the unit Constitution to revise
Article IV, Sec.1 to consolidate two officer positions from
Corresponding Secretary and Recording Secretary into one officer
position to be called Secretary. The rationale for this proposal is
ease the recruiting problem the unit is experiencing to find members
willing to be nominated for positions as officers. If approved, the
Executive Board will then rewrite Article V, Sections 4 and 5 of the
units Bylaws to consolidate the duties of the Recording and
Corresponding Secretaries.
Second will be a vote to instruct our Delegate to the International
Delegates Meeting to be held at Bozeman, MT on June 30, 2008. Since
Airstream, Inc. has announced that it will no longer manufacture and
sell class A motor homes. Present members and owners of such Airstream
RV's who need to replace their current Airstream Class A motor homes
will no longer be eligible for WBCCI membership unless the
International Constitution is revised to permit ownership of other than
Airstream Class A motor homes, they give up the way-of-life in RVing
they have adopted by switching to a trailer or to a Class B or C motor
home, or surrender their membership in WBCCI. This issue was addressed
by the Delegates at their last meeting at Perry, GA and was defeated.
It is anticipated that this or similar issue (to authorize the Four
Winds model of another Thor Company manufacturer) to be eligible for
owners to be members of WBCCI will be again voted by the Delegates at
their 2008 meeting. A vote by our unit members attending the March
Business Meeting will provide our delegate instructions on how to vote
at the 2008 Delegates Meeting. The solution to this issue will have a
strong influence on the future life and survival of WBCCI. Plan to
attend this meeting so that your views will be represented in how our
delegate will be instructed to vote.
