Hi all my name is David, and I just joined the WBCCI Montana Unit. I was on the fence for awhile not sure what to do as far as the WBCCI. Was following the name change threads on airstreamforum and started to realize the importance and the history & tradition of the WBCCI, and also the passion that all of you have for this great part of airstream history. So I jumped off to help with the cause and also to get to know all of you. Maybe somewhere down the road we will meet.

David,

If you are going to the International We'll be there - as deligated voting the name change down of course. Our unit has responded that it is not in favor of AOAI for the name.

Like the site, and like the idea.  Great intro splash screen too.

I'm now truly a WBCCI member at large.  Found myself full-timing a couple of weeks ago.  But I've noticed that the "at large" members haven't been asked anything either.  Where do I vote?  Absentee ballot?  ;)

Hope the effort goes well all.   :D

Good luck with that!  No, in this society you have NO VOTE because there's no way for you to be counted.  No, that's not MY position, that's what we've been told.  An old time rule that needs to be trashed along with a few others.  You get to pay $50 a year for dues, just don't ask any questions, and don't expect to be able to solidify your position with an actual vote.

Oh Gee -- almost forgot!  While they won't look at your position as one that matters -- you're always welcome to join our list of supporters here!  We're hoping by the time that this whole mess is put to bed that someone will be moving forward with a motion that will not only restore your RIGHT to vote, but will make sure that every member gets to vote no matter where the that elusive meeting is!

Hi David, welcome to the forum and welcome to the club.  It did seem odd to me to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the club with a name change!  ???  I think it's pretty cool to be part of something that has stood so long and continued down to our day.  It would be a shame to strip the name of its heritage and replace it with a brand spanking new one as any new club would be able to do.  We are special.  ;)  My husband and I hope to go West soon again.  We really like Montana and Wyoming.  We've spent our vacations out there 4 or 5 different years so far.

Thanks for helping out with the cause.  My name is Carol and we belong to the Metro-Detroit Unit in Michigan.  I have been to the International Rally held here in Michigan and a Florida state rally so far and then a local Airstream Forums rally.  It's pretty neat meeting up with so many other Airstreams.  Almost like people they come in all different shapes, sizes and ages.  I never knew how interesting it would be to people watch and tour the other units, now I'm hooked. I hope to get better acquainted with you and every here.

Hi Rich, how's the full-timing going?  I have been following your blog and your reviews and updates over at the Digital RV.  You sure have alot of electronics.  I think once the club moves ahead and starts utilizing the internet more we will be able to vote and keep event schedules up to date.  Now together we just have to work on that pesky members at large and voting procedure after the no name change.   :)  Welcome aboard.

Well, I'm a little slow on the uptake here.  I've been signed up on the site for a while but just remembered it also has a forum (duh!)

I'm Jamie (dougjamie on other forums).   Thought I'd use a name here that doesn't confuse me with my better half.

The member-at-large category is starting to get my interest.  Sounds like a good title for a WBCCI digital unit, for full-timers or other Airstreamers who find it easier to meet on the net than at winter luncheons and spring business meetings.  Whaddya think?

That would probably be one of the biggest units in the club.  You could have online voting and maybe even call it the Wally B Unit.  If unit dues were just a dollar you'd probably eliminate all at-large members.  He was way ahead of his time wasn't he? :)

Get going kiddo!!  The time is right!

You know what - that is brilliant! Digital unit. There is no reason that at large members can not be serviced as well as members attached to a unit. A members hould not be punnished for being too far away to easily attend a rally or a meeting. SaveWally is an excellent example of how people so far apart can still accomplish things as though they were right there.

Hi all.  My husband Jim and I (Minya) have three kids and bought our A/S in January.  We quickly joined the Pensacola Unit (029) as our five year old son wanted "our red numbers".

We ordered buttons when we found this site and my mother and 10 year old daughter wore ALL of them to the grocery store that day-lol!  Too bad I didn't snap a picture!

Let me be the first to say "Welcome" to all 5 Greers!  Thanks for helping to spread the word!  And by all means, send in that photo if you ever get another chance to take it.

On a personal note, I'd love to get to Pensacola some spring for the Vintage Airstream Rally the VAC puts on there each year.  It seems like a good one.
