Wyoming Unit Casts ~14 Votes FOR Four Winds, 10 AGAINST
« on: May 23, 2007, 03:16:20 PM »

Here we are deep into MAY and we still have Region Officers spouting BALD FACED LIES to the membership!  This is completely unacceptable!  These LIES are directly attributable to influencing members to vote in a different manner than they intended!  This CRAP has got to stop!  We have people donning blue or red blazers and berets pretending to do good work for the club and instead they're out there under the guise of club leaders playing their own special interest politics!

860 motor home members -- 1400 motor home members

12.5% -- 20%

SOBs -- Airstream Editions -- Wally Byam Editions

When does this crap stop?  I'll tell you when it stops -- in PERRY!

We're very happy that even in light of the intentional mis-information relayed by yet another Region Officer there were enough Wyoming Unit Members that get it.  Let's call this another defeat for a Region Officer hoping to influence the direct outcome of yet another unit election as the Wyoming Unit FAILED to pass the motion by the required 2/3s majority!  WAY TO GO WYOMING!!!

"(The Region 11 1st VP) explained to the members present that Thor is the parent company of Airstream and those motorhomes allowed will still be an Airstream . Most International officers have motor homes as they live in them most of the time and do a lot of work. This information gave a different slant on the situation and after much discussion on how we should direct our Delegates to vote, the voting members present and correspondence received was: 3 nos. and 4 yes."

Thanks to Wyoming for not caving to that ridiculous argument for changing WBCCI into a generic RV club.  If the IBT Class-A-team members think it requires a non-Airstream moho to carry out their duties, then it's high time to make some changes in the IBT job and trade up for some Classic Airstream officers.  ;)

There ought to be a sanction to bring against officers for lying to its members!  That is terrible.  As you say good for the 3 that held fast.  Still wish we had 1M1V in place, 4 yeses and 3 nos do not make 14.  If half the members to 3/4 of the members do not vote than that should be stated.  There is a membership and there is a voting group and the two are not even close in count.  That needs to be addressed and not hidden.  I wonder how many members realize how few members make the decisions for the entire club.  Why is nothing done to get the members out to vote?  Oh...I know... they can USE their vote without having to trouble themselves to present any arguments.  That really reenforces the fact that if you aren't in the loop you just don't count!

Gotta a call from the Mandalay Luxury Coach this a.m..  I was told the Prez of the club will be calling me pertaining to questions I have raised about Four Winds/Mandalay coaches being allowed into the WBCCI thru the IBT motion.  From the sounds of it, my intial call has caused considerable flap.  I will know the true meaning of this flap, when I get the call.

Jim -- it would be especially interesting to see what they think about losing potential Mandalay owners to the WBCCI.  As Larry Huttle re-capped, you might also want to see what the Mandalay Travel Club Prez would think about merging with the WBCCI.  Maybe send him a pic of a whole bunch of folks dressed in the official uniform?  Let me know if you need a pic to send...

I'd like to see his face when he opens it...  :o

65GT,

I think you've hit the nail where it counts.  Heather Hockert, who is the one talking to the Mandalay Club Prez, said they have put alot of hard work into forming their Mandalay specific club.  She said, "this was their year to bloom."  I think the last thing they want is to loose members or merge into oblivion.  Talking to the Mandalay Travel Cub, this angle of approach may result in some answers, where talking to our IBT or allowing countering published info in Blue Beret has failed.  I think the chips will fly. ::) No call as of this afternoon, June 6th.  Waiting.......

Gotta call from Jack Finley, Prez of the Mandalay Travel Club, this morning.  I explained to him what is going on within the WBCCI.
He said that Mandalay Travel Club, thru its by-laws, is a Mandalay Diesel Pusher Motorhome Exclusive Club.   He said that probably no Mandalay Coach owner would join the WBCCI if the IBT sponsored motion passes.  WBCCI membership would not benefit a member increase by new participating Mandalay Owners.
He also, wanted to tell me, that any Airstream Class A owner who would "TRADE" for a  Mandalay Coach as a replacement to their Airstream Class A, would be more than welcome to join the Mandalay Travel Club, after their purchase.
He also gave me permission, if I am able to speak from the floor in Perry, to use his name and the office he holds, to explain to all ( WBCCI and IBT members) that NO Mandalay current owner would be joining the Airstream Club.
He also gave me his phone numbers, both "cell and home" should anyone (IBT officer or others) need to talk to with him further.

To answer my questions I had for him.

Did he know about the WBCCI motion. .......NO
If the motion passes, would all Airstream Class A owners, Class B Sprinters and Fords, and Travel Trailer members be able to join the Mandalay Travel Club......NO
Did he think that Mandalay motorcoach owners currently in his club be inclined to join the Airstream Club?........NO

There you have it.  Let the IBT eat kelp!
