North Texas Unit -- April Mail-In Ballot
« on: April 27, 2007, 06:00:19 AM »

So here's the scary part...  If the NTU is ONLY suggesting their members read the Blue Beret for information than Don Shafer's decision to not allow an opposing view in will work.  Let's hope that some members of the NTU were able to find SENSIBLE information about the issue somewhere else...  Good grief!

"Please read the next couple of issues of the “Blue Beret” for information concerning the proposal of admitting motor homes from Thor industries into WBCCI. Our delegate to International will need to vote on this proposal this summer. There will be a proxy in next month’s newsletter so please send back with your vote!"

The good news is that I spent Saturday with Jim and Janie Haddaway, ex International President and First Lady who live at NTAC.  Jim didn't commnt on the North Texas vote, per se, but he said that the motorhome issue is "going down hard".  Janie Haddaway is our unit 1st VP elect.  The Haddaways have a, currently slightly damaged, 34 slide trailer after an accident on wet roads two weeks ago.

Jim is very opposed to the motorhome amendment and helped me word my motion that tied our unit President's hands and committed him to vote no to any and all amendments to the original motorhome proposal as well as the original proposal.

Well it certainly is good to hear that Jim is opposed to the MoHo issue.  I had heard that somewhere else but was unable to confirm.

I'll bet Jim is just as sad knowing that he was the last member representing 87% of our club's membership to be selected for the I3VP through Presidential run.  I believe we're looking at 6 straight years of MoHo members being selected by our nominating committees without a travel trailer member anywhere in sight.

How sad is that?

I hope Jim and Janie weren't hurt in that wet roads mishap.
