It appears that the Oregon Unit website has gone to mothballs. Does anyone have a count from OR?

Might PM Jordandvm on the other site or Janet, I forget who was maintaining the site for the Or unit. I haven't heard of a vote from the Or unit or the Western Or unit. Have you ?

Chris -- which unit do you belong to? I thought you rally group was with Stef, Janet, and others from the OR unit, no? I think Stef finally dropped but Janet is still in, isn't she?

Neither, I belong to the WDCU.
From what I've seen, I don't think that the Or units are my style. That may change in time.

That's just plain wrong, but congrats!
The wrong part is that your local unit should be open and flexible. I've probably told it before but Metro nearly folded five years back. The unit got older and they weren't attracting anybody new. Well one of the younger of the group went out hunting Airstream owners -- he found them -- they joined and now all of us (younger and older) are having fun. I think the older folk are happy to come and nobody minds setting up a place for them to have fun. We enjoy everyones company just because we all have something in common and we want to have fun with those RVs.
I think that's where many units are failing. Not only do they have to be open to younger members -- they have to go out and find them -- invite them to their outings and if newbies say "you guys are a lot older than we are" then you need to reinforce that they're just the first arrivals -- that the group is actively seeking out younger members -- that they should join and stay and help continue the 50 year tradition.
It's our IBT that's screwing this up big time. They apparently don't know the first thing about keeping a leisure club in tact. If they did they wouldn't continually be bringing forward club splitting issues that is causing MORE members to quit than their so called solutions could ever possibly save. They don't understand what it is that defines our club and keeps its appeal. No, the IBT is hell bent on destroying this club. Do anything within means to keep their MoHo butts in it at the club's future viability and appeal.
These knuckle-heads may never get it and that's why club-wide TT owners that do need to step forward and up because this club can grow -- this club can modernize -- this club can continue on another 50 years with the very same name and the very same Regular Member requirements. We just need to make sure that our leaders either get it -- or return to the Regular Member ranks is all...
