I think they are in extreme damage control mode.  If they only knew the level of unrest that is building up, they would be quaking in their shoes.  It is obvious that someone is following the threads on Airforums where I posted the photo with the tape on my numbers.

I will not post the letter. It was a request, rather than an order, to remove the tape and the letter admitted that I could not be forced to do so.  I did take the tape off, which was starting to peel off anyway, because I have a rally coming up and I want that to be fun for the unit.  I want to keep politics out of the rally.

I haven't answered the letter yet.  I'm still working on a draft.

I think they are in extreme damage control mode.  If they only knew the level of unrest that is building up, they would be quaking in their shoes.

I'm getting "deja vu all over again" from last year's Bob Thompson affair.  They suspended Bob and finally, after getting tired of hearing about it, reversed their decision.   This year the IP has assured us that Leo is toast no matter how many people complain.  I guess we'll see.

It comes down to a matter of perceptions.  Closeted within the collegial confines of the Executive Committee meeting room it's easy for them to say that ridding themselves of a few troublemakers will make things a lot easier for them.  Heck, what's a few members?  As I recall, they concluded that they could afford to lose an incremental 2% (over the preordained annual 5-6% member loss) as a result of the dues increase.

They think there are only a few people paying attention.  We think there are a lot of us.  (And I of course, think we're right!)

So I don't think it's so much a matter of "extreme damage control" as it is of simple heartburn when they come out of the EC7 meeting room and see mobs of angry protesters.  If Tom wants to do damage control all he has to do is get the decision reversed the way Jerry did with the Bob Thompson suspension.

And what we need to do is keep the issue in their face until they do.

I'm just looking over this newsletter....  Wow...

Promoting the BlueBeretOnline.com .  What is easy or convenient about that?  Adobe Reader and Google Docs runs circles around this thing.  What a shame...  If this had been a Google Beta site, it would have been taken down in a week flat.  What company does this?  Marketing Committee strike TWO.  First the butt ugly blue and yellow bumper sticker, then this.  How's that good money being spent in this round?  Yikes...

2020 Mention:  Yeah, they're working on ideas for June -- that and a buck fifty will get you a cup of coffee.  This committee has been ON for nearly three years -- they ought to be bringing legislation to the IBT, not ideas...  Oh, I forgot, the 2020 Committee is no longer the fair haired child -- they've been replaced as the savior of this club by the marketing committee.  Can you hear the death march in the distance?

Computer Software System Change:  ...and email addresses go down in flames?  Say it isn't so...  Maybe they should outsource that to Cortés too?  I wonder if you can stick a trailer-flipping advertisement to the IP's signature?   :'(

International Rally Budget Cuts -- the Nickel and Dime program is in full force.  Has anyone seen anything that resembles a fix anywhere?  No mention of the 30% or so shut out by lack of 3 amp or generator only sections.  Members are expendable, and it shows...

"At the request of the Unit planning..." -- Why can't anyone ever tell the truth here?  Is it really that difficult?  I'm in constant contact with our MetroNY Unit President, and no one at the unit level requested anything.  The expelled members, this rally's hosts, withdrew this rally from the club after a series of Keystone Cops episodes played out surrounding their expulsion.  Gail by the way, still wants to know how this feckless crew could throw her out.  The IP should likely stay a bit more than an arms length from the wife - she's not toting iced tea like other IBT member's wives...

"Remember nothing is to be placed on the face of your badge" -- What?  Was there an issue down there in Sarasota?  Something grieveable maybe?  Maybe a bunch of members with a back electrical tape stripe across their badges?  Were any grievances issued for doing the IBT -- you know, the causing "disharmony and ill feelings among club members"?  Let me count the ways...

"Members are covered by the WBCCI liability insurance only when attending WBCCI rallies and caravans."  Ah, ah, ah, make sure you tell them about their one-time annual option to have a joint event with a non-WBCCI sanctioned RV club. Let's try to not create yet another new 'established custom' for the sake of the mis-managers.

Janet had something I liked over on Air...  Bullies thrive where leadership fails...

Hey -- tip for the day!!!  Some were saying messages are displaying incorrectly here in some instances.  Trying leaving TWO blank lines at the end of your message.  Clears it up for me!

Interesting that the email addresses failed.  Who is running the railroad?  It takes me only minutes to set up the email forwarding addresses for one of my websites.

What is to keep me from quoting this New Letter on the Airforums. I don't see any copywriter on it and I found it in a dumpster? Isn't that public domain?
