RED OAKED bUDGET
« on: February 10, 2010, 02:46:22 PM »

Just read the InternatioE)al President's (IP) February Newsletter(?) and the first item was a question as to what is being done to correct the budget Problem. It is sad, very sad to note that His response (in my differing opinion) very poor. Why is time and effort being taken to cut Hq's budget WHEN THE ENTIRE PROBLEM CAN BE RESOLVED BY CUTTING OUT THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE'S (EC) EXPENSES; and CUTTING OUT THE FREEBEES FOR THE elite  GROUP AT THE COMMITTEE AND UNIT PRESIDENTS LUNCHES/DINERS. the only ones there should be the Unit Presidents at theirs and the Committee Chairman at theirs along with the EC group at both. You don't need a bunch of pp there running up costs.

But wait, if you take that all away, how are those poor folks going to have fun? What are you expecting them to do - have a Bar-B-Que with some friends or what? Oh - don't tell me, not the dreaded POTLUCK!  |~{

The biggest worry is that they would fall off their pedestal on the way to the BBQ and never make it to the "fun and fellowship that we lowely members are having/

Oh - don't tell me, not the dreaded POTLUCK!

At one of the first rallies we attended, we had a pot-luck which was not attended by the region folks in attendance... we were told just before they drove off-site for dinner that "they did not drive all that way for a potluck"

No way - so, Red Coats are TOO GOOD for a potluck. Their fat asses have to have a catered special dinner or else nothing at all??? My God - how do these folks actually camp? or do they anymore. I go to Death Valley - I live on a bag of Doritos and a martini and am happy for it! Is that the best these folks know. Have they been in their Class A's so long that they can no longer actually enjoy which makes the club great - fellowship around the table. Or is it that they are so damned busy that they can not cook something up to share? Or is it that they cannot share something for dinner because they cannot expense it back to WBCCI?
No matter what - any member who cannot share in a potluck should be expelled from whatever position they have. The potluck is the essence of fellowship...

Be careful with the broad strokes...

Our Region 2 Prez was with us in August of '08 and he was there onsite for the duration, having MetroNY fun!  That was followed by our Region 2 1st VP with us onsite for our Martha Clara vineyard rally, and then again, was there for the duration having fun.  There wasn't any difference between our Region officers and our membership.  It was just a few more great people having fun...

Unfortunately with Grievance# 1 in play those folks had the extra burden of MetroNY members complaining about what a group of 7 thousands of miles away could do to try and distrupt their fun.  Do you think the EC7 won any brownie points?  They're just out there doing what they do best...
