Hackers at Air Forums
« on: November 19, 2009, 04:18:07 PM »

I was surprised to see that Air Forums is down with a notice that hackers have caused issues and they are investigating.

Tim, is that something rare?  I would think it would not be likely to happen.  I don't know much about protections but I suppose there are always new threats or hackers testing the existing systems.

It's too bad.  I hope it is not down for long.  As of now there was a 2:00 and 4:30 EST updates.

I just read that the IRV2 forums were also attacked.

Yes, it is quite possible. I am looking into this also. Does Andy own those forums as well?

Still down this evening.  I don't even get the message anymore; just a timeout.

I'm curious -- Vbulletin is one of the most popular forum packages.  Are there Vbull system wide attacks, or is this one just targeted at Andy?

The AirForums  site seems to be fine now.  In fact, it has been slow for a long time and it is now much faster.
