I would ask some one,  but it just seems sort of rude to ban me without a word when all I have ever done over there is read the posts and look around at the links as a guest so far.  It is almost like I have just experienced a personal attack because of my comments and opinions here about the existing community and the new tos application to everyone.  I have not been untoward or confrontational in the least.  I guess here's where the selection of moderators shows just how critical it is to find even tempered unbiased persons to do the job.  Oh but wait it wasn't even posted over on that forum and under that jurisdiction.  I think I may have been the victim of cyberstalking and targeted by one of those unidentified "bad" persons, that the IBT were talking about when they were discussing how to to secure a safe environment for posters at the meeting. Who would do such a thing at random and why haven't I the right to look at the clubs' sites, as a member of 5 years.

Well, they might have been banning the IP address of a spam bot or something that just happens to be your same IP address. It is not likely but still a possibility.

Damn!  I knew I forgot one...

"We are Borg. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile."  :o  :-\  :-X  -- Star Trek, the Borg

I can still get through, but I'm not doing any reading.  I'm waiting for the Las Vegas Style Banners and lights to show up -- all pointing to just one spot in the universe...   Tim!  Where's my ROFLMAO emoticon?  ;D

Oh that is funny Leo.  I had to look it up.  Here is what I found...  You are very good at satire.  8)

"The Borg were a pseudo-race of cybernetic beings, or cyborgs, from the Delta Quadrant. No truly single individual existed within the Borg Collective (with the possible sole exception of the Borg Queen), as they were linked into a hive mind. Their ultimate goal was perfection through the forcible assimilation of diverse sentient species, technologies, and knowledge. As a result, they were among the most dangerous and feared races in the galaxy."

OK I will ask Charley.  How do I get ahold of Charley... ??? ??? ???  Is he still in charge of electronic communication?

Good. I would be interested to hear the response. I am betting that it was not intentional....

Ok, not to panic.  But no word yet.  Is anyone else having any problems viewing the forums and receiving this particular message?

I hope it gets straightened out shortly.  In the event that this had been an actual emergency and not merely a test (of my patience,)  my next step would have been to look into trying to coordinate an electronic beer summit.  ;)

Carol,

Just checked, and I am still able to view the forum as a guest.  (I have no plans of signing up unless and until the present inequities are cleared up.)

But then, why would you want to?  All the posts seem to be by the moderators.

Hey--a beer summit!  This could be the solution to some of WBCCI's problems.  Although something stronger than beer is probably indicated for many of the interpersonal conflicts within WBCCI. . .

Thanks Mud Dog for checking. CONCEPT!!  Wow what a rally we could have if the EC7 and much of IBT were there to rub elbows or get tennis elbow  :D (aka do shots) with the general membership AND process concerns from members and from officers simultaneously informally.  We might actually have a win-win proposition. MINGLE is the operative word.  :)  Thanks for your comment.  Just imagine if you can... a club not divided among itself but united; old, young,  vintage Airstreams, new Airstreams, classic or innovation, fiberglass or aluminum, officers or members.  Save Wally!! Have fun in your Airstream with other enthusiasts.

I updated the "demo" forums over the last few days - I don't know why I am bothering to do this when I have so much real work to do elsewhere. But, I have it all there except a classified ad system. That system would cost me $70 to purchase and I am not going to spend money for something that will never go past here.
http://wbcciforums.org/forum/

I have done this simply for the reason that I still want IBT, Charlie and others to see that given the option, the club members could have done this and done it well. I do not expect this to become an active site - the WBCCI is already locked into it's present situation with the possibility of a change practically impossible. However, should the need ever arise, it will be known that it can be done.

 :) ;) 8) Tim,

You have again demonstrated the "It can be done" and you deserve to be awarded for your efforts.  Me thinks that we should design a "SaveWally" medal of valor for the likes of you.  In the mean time the next beer "summit" that you, Leo and I have will be on me. :D ;)

Just a quick update:  Even though I have contacted the forum administrator, headquarters and Charlie, I have had no response from anyone as to my IP address being banned.  My foregoing conclusion is that the new new forums (3rd  start-up) was created not only to purge the forum history once again but to require reregistering to enable banning particular participants from comment.

My questions are; is it ethical and does the entire IBT support the effort to ban a club member without any notice... in advance of their even joining the forum?  Is that something atune to barring "perceived" participation?  Having never been banned or having a complaint lodged against me before, perhaps those with moderator experience could extrapolate on any conditions barriers or criteria that may be in place as a guideline on their respective forums.  Point in fact, whatever comments being the basis of contention, have been made and remain on other forums, without warranting any disciplinary action.  So basically, something I said, someone else higher up in the club didin't like, and took liberty to act fully autonomously, without as much as a word to me and barred my entrance.

I think I am due a response to my inquiries at the very least.  But in like manner the satisfaction of receiving a reply has equally been diliberately withheld. When you're out you're out.  But do you ever wonder or worry who will be next to go?  It could happen to you.  And so goes the cold war.

If you've written Charlie and he hasn't responded, I'd find that pretty bizarre.  If you're sure that you have a valid email address for Charlie, and you already tried a moderator, then I suggest you take your email inquiry and forward it to Cindy Reed, asking if she would forward it on to Tom Collier before you file that grievance...

Tom is very accessible, although I couldn't find a published email address for him.  Email me and I'll give you his new email address (and no it's NOT AirstreamOne)...  :D  ;D  :D

In trying to find a published email address for Charlie (for you), my first hit brought an interesting surprise...

Remember Bill Kerfoot's post at forums.wbcci.org, where Bill asked where he could place a classified ad?  Then members shot back in protest that the only classified outlet at wbcci.org was actually just another link to that USED Airstream Peddler?  Where MEMBERS would be required to pay $30 for a 4-week listing?  (Is this supposed to be a brand new MEMBER Benefit?)  If I remember right, wasn't a posting in that thread deleted?  ;)  :D  :D  (TIM!!  My ROFLMA emoticon? ;) )

Well (this gets interesting), while the "Forum Feedback" section of the new forum remains open to the public, anything that might put the club, its officers, or its policies in questionable light apparently gets moved from public view -- hence -- PLEASANTVILLE...

Pleasantville:  "There's a place where life is simple.  People are perfect and everything is black and white.  It's a place that's as far from reality as we can imagine."

No sense acknowledging and correcting the obvious flaws in what we do, just move that CRAP to where it can't be seen by prospective members and the general public.

Hey Marv, maybe we can get some sucker to sign up without knowing just how political this organization really is?  When exactly does common sense come into play?

This is what happens when small groups work in a vacuum.  Don't open up a new forum, on a trial basis, for commentary, to the ENTIRE membership.  Invite who you will, and see what you get.  Wouldn't it have been better to open it up to the entire membership, without these sneak peek invitations and let the cards fall where they may?  Allow members to post questions and criticisms of the new forum BEFORE you get backed into a corner you can't retreat from?

How many IBT votes would this forum have gained had the MEMBERSHIP and IBT member both been educated on just the mere appearance of that forum, as it sits today?  It would have gone down in flames...

So, while I have no idea what the second thread was that got 'moved,' the reasons that the 1st post got moved was pretty obvious.  The Kremlin must have done it!  :D

Oh, in the jpg below you'll see where two posts have been MOVED.  Don't worry yourself, it's all for the good of the party, my comrade... (TIM!!  Where's my emoticon of a straight face wearing a Russian Ushanka? ;) )
