An overview of the club
« on: October 16, 2009, 04:44:54 AM »

WBCCI is a great forum for Airstreams, in order for our hobby to grow in popularity and move beyond the stuffed shirt, blue baret elites that the hobby is often associated with you need fringe elements that help create a culture onto its own and I think you accomplish that with success. However, as others have pointed out you cant be loved by everyone and sometimes your rants while amusing to us will make those in the establishment upset.

Rant-On

Several here were very active members of the WBCCI forums for years as the archives would show. I felt we were contributing members of an established online community and I had a sense of belonging and knew the other members.  And we all know what the charter members of Save Wally have done for the club at their own expense and much time and effort. Then the archives were purged and the door locked and a script put out on selective IP addresses, and there were no responses to repeated inquiries to administrator, headquarters, and the communication chairman.  It's invitation only.  Apparently the forum nominating committee missed a few resumes...

It's one thing to be looking for love :-* in all the wrong places, but justice should prevail within the club and extend to all its judicial actions and proceedings and member benefits. These are not exercises in futility, popular or not. The metal must be tested and refined.  He who is righteous in least is also righteous in much.  And yes, it all counts. Integrity, honesty, responsibility probably are mentioned in that ethical code I keep hearing about.  I agree with you that these are growing pains and it is necessary to move attitudes forward.  The hornets' nest has been disturbed and they are stinging mad.

You don't have to like everything you hear, and you certainly do not have to agree with what you have heard, but we should all work very zealously to have the right to express our opinions without retaliatory actions being visited upon those that speak out.
