Expenses for 2009 International at Madison
« on: January 02, 2009, 09:37:44 AM »

I wanted to ask what happens if there are so many fewer participants for the International than planned upon?  With expectations of 1200 and registrations at 500 plus, and volunteers...anyone know how many volunteers expected? Participants might be able to enjoy personal concierge,  ;D

With partipants less than projected, will WBCCI costs be incurred for the remaining number of commitment?  I am thinking about the guaranteed amount and wondering if WBCCI will still need to pay for 1200 to the fairgrounds or in other expenses.  Does anyone know how that would play out?

If 500 members have paid out of pocket and 600-700 places remain paid for but unused could the rally fee be recalculated downward to offer a reduced rate to all and increase participation?

I guess what I am driving at is, if it is in fact going to cost the club from savings for this rally, then wouldn't it be better PR and use of that money to have members enjoying that expenditure than merely sitting empty?  Either way the club takes a hit.  Could something positive be done out of the expense?

Good question.  You may havesomething there.

Unlike a unit or region rally, there are no meals at the International.  Entertainment (such as it is) is pretty much a fixed cost.  About the only thing that more attendees cause is more strain on some services such as trolleys.

OTOH: more attendees would make it more lucrative for vendors, tour companies, and the like that make the rally more attractive.

??? :-[ It is believed that the cartel does NOT care what the costs are because there is a $100,000 to $200,000 International Rally reserve and if they run short, they will just use part or all of the reserve. Don't think the number of members present matters to the cartel because it doesn't change their free meals and parties. They still get their perks.

The EC7 will still have their private offices and hide behind their staff. They will strut around in their fancy pant outfits and ignore the membership.

Now a real important question, Since the IP is the Clubs representative a the RV Trade Shows, Why do we not hear about them? Why are there no reports? Why don't we hear about what is going on in the RV world. What is the current relationship between the club and Airstream? It is noted that Airstream has some interesting marketing plans. How does our Club fit in. GEE Wizz, Who is minding the store?

Is it true that Airstream Company  will not be at Madison?
