The deadline is tomorrow and already THREE candidates have submitted their resumes to run from the floor in Bozeman -- and those are just the ones we know about! Here's the preliminary line-up:
International 3rd VP -- Travel Trailer member Robert Thompson, currently the Region 1 President. I don't have Bob's resume in front of me so I have no way of summarizing his many WBCCI efforts.
International Nominating Committee -- Travel Trailer member Pat McFadden, twenty six year member, three time New Jersey Unit President, eleven year President at Jersey Shore Campground, the Airstream Campground.
International Nominating Committee -- yours truly. I don't have anywhere near the time in this club as Bob or Pat -- not even close -- but I'm running on issues. I've been a volunteer in a not-for-profit professional society for 17 out of my 28 years of membership. I believe working as a volunteer in any not-for-profit gives you the ability to recognize true selfless leadership. There's plenty more to come in the Blue Beret and from other venues on the Internet. I don't want to get the cart before the horse -- stay tuned...
Interestingly enough we have TWO TT owners running for I3VP. Win, lose, or draw it would be great if the membership got actual position papers from all the candidates involved so that the membership can make intelligent decisions. Typical WBCCI resumes mark time more than anything else. We need to seek out and look for leaders that reflect the majority view of where this club is, what its problems are, and how we turn the membership from a negative to a an annual positive.
It will be interesting to see if any other TT members come forward to run for International Recording Secretary or the International Treasurer slot. Both of these offices are one year terms yet each carries a crucial vote on the Executive Committee.
There's the late breaking news. If you hear about any other candidates coming forward please let us know!
