At our April luncheon, several members asked me if it was true that the WBCCI is going to be sued, and what did I think about it.  If you are just now learning about this then your likely reaction is, "What's THAT all about?" In short, it is the culmination of a long brewing discontent with the way International officers run the club, and frustration with not being able to effect change from within the organization. It could happen. The group, composed of club members, has not only announced its intent to sue, but have collected pledges and money so that they can proceed. What does it mean to us? Are you aware that no fewer than 26 Motions will come before our IBT at the 2010 Mid-Winter IBT Meeting Jan 20 & 23?  No? Well, welcome to the club!  It appears that nearly ALL of our membership was left in the dark.  We put a little survey together that will close on Jan 18 at 6pm EST.  Here are all the details that you need to know: Dear WBCCI Members, On January 20th our Mid-Winter IBT Seminar takes place in Rayne, LA and will be simulcast so that you can listen in.  On January 23rd, our IBT Meeting will take place and will also be simulcast.  This year 26 motions are being presented and discussed.  The first item on the agenda is the $103,000.00 financial loss of our 2009 Madison International Rally.  Another important item on the Agenda is a proposed $20 dues increase, increasing dues from $55 a year, to $75 a year (that does not include your Unit dues). Your leadership decided to US Mail these motions to International Leaders and Region Officers instead of scanning them and making them available to the entire membership. From the November 2009 WBCCI Blue Beret, the very first "Letter to the Editor" Question: What is being done to permanently reduce or eliminate the $125,000.00 in International Officer’s reimbursements fund? With our membership numbers now at less than a quarter of their 1979 peak, why aren’t we downscaling our leadership and our reimbursement budgets to keep our club profitable?” Leo G. WBCCI #6006 Answer: The travel budget for all the International Officers is $38,300.00, Region Officers, $47,437.00. These amounts are recorded in the WBCCI Bylaws; a Motion is required to modify them. The Bylaws require travel for the Region Presidents or VP’s pursuant to WBCCI Bylaws, Article IX, Section 5, Page 23: “Region Presidents or any officer designated by them shall visit all units within their respective regions at least once each year.” Further, in Article IX, Regions, Policy, D.
